Last fall, Congress agreed to fund key NASA programs that are critical to America’s economic future. Sadly, they have not followed through on that promise. In fact, Congress is now looking at what to fund for 2012, but has yet to pass a budget for 2011. This is unacceptable. Members of the Space Frontier Foundation are headed to Washington on March 6-8, 2011 to urge Congress to “Keep the Promise” when it comes to supporting the new US commercial space industry.
We are transforming space from a government- owned bureaucratic program into a dynamic and inclusive frontier open to people. We are determined to convert the image held by many young people that the future will be worse than the present, and we reject the idea that the world's greatest moments are in its past.
