SFF Announces $25,000 First Prize for the NewSpace Business Plan Competition

The Space Frontier Foundation (SFF) announced today that additional prize money to be awarded to the top three businesses competing in the 2011 NewSpace Business Plan Competition. These generous prizes, totaling $32,500, will help launch paradigm-shifting NewSpace companies while the competition itself will provide all the finalists with practical guidance from investors and business professionals. Teachers In Space and NASA to Cooperate on Teacher Development

The Teachers in Space program (TIS) has been selected by the NASA Education Office to create an innovative professional-development program for high school science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) teachers during the summer of 2011-12. The workshops, conducted under the K-12 Cooperative Agreement Notice, will focus on suborbital science, suborbital flight, space medicine, and human factors. To conduct these workshops, Teachers in Space has assembled a team that includes members from NASA, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Space Education Initiatives.
