NewSpace 2011 Conference Reaches New Heights

The NewSpace 2011 Conference saw new levels of participation from around the space industry. New partnerships and plans to further the expanding NewSpace industry formed between NASA, commercial space leaders, advocates, and companies. Lively debate took place during panels, leading to new ideas to spark the commercial industry. With record smashing attendance numbers, exciting new speakers, and an overflowing exhibitor hall, this year’s conference was a true success.

We-Are-Space Video Contest Finalists Now Online

Three finalists in the We-Are-Space Video Contest have been selected and their compositions are now available for viewing at Spacevidcast.com/wearespace. Vote for your favorite by giving it a Facebook ‘Like.’ The contest sponsors, the Space Frontier Foundation, Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, and Spacevidcast, will award the videographer a $1000 cash prize based on the number of ‘Likes’ received and the opinions of a panel of judges. Voting ends July 15th and the winner will be announced at the NewSpace Awards Gala, part of the NewSpace 2011 Conference.

Submission Deadline for the We-Are-Space Video Contest Has Been Extended to June 14th

Entrants into the We-Are-Space Video Contest now have an extra week to hone their videos as the submission deadline has been pushed to June 14th. All the submitted videos will be featured online at Spacevidcast.com/wearespace on June 15th. The Space Frontier Foundation, SEDS, and Spacevidcast, ask students to create a short video that answers, “How will emerging low-cost access to space transform both the role of government space agencies and the lives of ordinary citizens?” The winner will be presented with a $1000 prize.

We-Are-Space Video Competition Asks How Low Cost Launches Will Affect Our Everyday

The SFF, SEDS, & Spacevidcast.com seek your answer to: “How will emerging low-cost access to space transform both the role of government space agencies and the lives of ordinary citizens?” Videos entered in the We-Are-Space competition will not only fuel the imaginations of those currently working to lower the cost of spaceflight, but also raise awareness in the general population about the possibilities space holds for the everyday person. Those interested in vying for the $1,000 grand prize should create short, well-crafted videos with a compelling argument.
