An exciting new feature is available for those that can’t make the conference that will allow them to still interact. We will have our own ‘Robotnaut’ at the conference! People will be able to sign up to control the robot which will be equipped with a camera and speaker so they can cruise around, take a look at exhibits, and even ask people questions! The robot has a tablet mounted on it’s head so a video feed of the controller is displayed to conference attendees. To take advantage of the robot, you must have a computer equipped with Google Chat with video enabled (web cam and microphone required), an android device, and Internet connection. Signup to have a telepresence at NewSpace 2011 at newspace2011.spacefrontier.org/robot_signup.
The three-day conference is filled with panels on the latest news and tech in the space industry, and registrants are encouraged to participate in the discussion. Catered lunch events will provide an opportunity for a more intimate chance to connection with other attendees and listen to presentations on the FAA’s take civil and commercial space partnership, the current state of NewSpace, and what the next 50 years in space hold. After an enlightening day of discussion, conference goers can put on their finest and help the Space Frontier Foundation celebrate the achievements of the commercial space industry stars at the NewSpace Awards Gala.
Register now and save at the NewSpace 2011 Conference registration page.
