We-Are-Space Video Contest Finalists Now Online

July 6, 2011 Press Releases

Vote for your Favorite on Spacevidcast or Facebook

Three finalists in the We-Are-Space Video Contest have been selected and their compositions are now available for viewing at Spacevidcast.com/wearespace. Vote for your favorite by giving it a Facebook ‘Like.’ The contest sponsors, the Space Frontier Foundation (SFF), Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), and Spacevidcast, will award the videographer a $1000 prize based on the number of ‘Likes’ received and the opinions of a panel of judges. Voting ends July 15th and the winner will be announced at the NewSpace Awards Gala, part of the NewSpace 2011 Conference. The conference will take place at the NASA Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, CA on July 28-30.

The videos answer the question: How will emerging low-cost access to space transform both the role of government space agencies and the lives of ordinary citizens?” Share you favorite video with your social media community. Not only will this garner more votes for your favorite, but it will also expand how people think about the future of space development. You must have a Facebook account to vote.

This contest is continuation of the SFF, SEDS, and Spacevidcast’s plan to ignite the next era of space development by encouraging innovative ideas and using multimedia to share them. NewSpace will be strengthened by crowdsourcing ideas and passion for space exploration and settlement into an unstoppable movement. Let everyone know about the space industry’s hopeful future and inspire your network to get involved!
