Toast to Planet Hunters, Founding Fathers and the Popularization of NewSpace!
Silicon Valley, CA – The past year has been one for the records books in the space industry! Bold and brave new accomplishments are come at a rapid pace not seen in decades, but we want to slow down for just an evening to toast the pride of the space industry. The black-tie NewSpace Awards Gala will takeplace the evening of Saturday, July 28 at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara. Be there to rub elbows with space stars and raise a glass to those who truly deserve it!
The evening will begin with drinks and entertainment from the Magnolia Jazz Band starting at 6:30 pm followed by a delicious 3-course meal of delectable French chicken, succulent beef tenderloin, seared salmon or crispy zucchini-potato cakes followed by the ultimate chocolate blackout with raspberry sauce.
If you can tear yourself from the food, you’ll be treated to amusing and heartfelt speeches by our NewSpace Award presenters and winners. Every year we hear classic tales of the early days of commercial space, exciting next steps and hilarious commentary. This year’s winners include NASA’s Kepler Mission, Bob Citron, TEDx, Carol Pinchefsky and Bruce Pittman. In a new addition, the Yuri’s Night team will also present their“Spirit of Yuri’s Night” award to Dr. Simon “Pete” Worden of NASA Ames.
