US market research firm, the Futron Corporation of Bethesda, Maryland, today published a benchmarking assessment study on the Isle of Man space industry with surprising results. The report highlights the Isle of Man’s lead in cutting edge satellite financing coupled with the value brought by the Government’s unique Public Private Partnership in orbital filing with Manx company, ManSat.
Flagsuit LLC, developer of “articulated inflatables” which include space suit components and hyperbaric suits, was recently awarded a contract to develop improved space suit glove assemblies for NASA.
The Space Frontier Foundation congratulated SpaceX for completing the world’s first commercial orbital spaceflight and recovery. “This flight will go down in history as a turning point for the opening of space to regular people,” said Foundation Co-Founder Rick Tumlinson. “It may not be Yuri Gagarin, but it is certainly the equivalent of Sputnik for commercial spaceflight!”
