Space 101

Over 70 students participated in Permission to Dream’s very successful Space 101, hosted by the California Institute of Technology during the Spring of 2002. For five Saturdays, these dedicated Los Angeles area high school students took the time to learn about space, mission design, engineering, and computers. The program also touched upon social, economic and political aspects of space exploration. Space 101 culminated when the students formed three teams: Delta, Gamma, and Sigma, and each team designed a spacecraft and an interplanetary mission to Jupiter and its 4 Galilean satellites.
