Silver Spring, Md. – The Space Frontier Foundation has announced it will be hosting /space pitch, a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Pitch Competition. The Space Frontier Foundation is a space advocacy nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that the exploration and development of space are open and accessible to everyone through the power of free enterprise.
“Accessibility and diversification is at the core of our mission at the Space Frontier Foundation,” said Space Frontier Foundation’s Executive Director Ann Kapusta. “By hosting competitions like these we are unlocking a lifetime of opportunities for young faces who would otherwise not be exposed to this level of mentorship. We look forward to not only meeting and elevating the winners but cultivating the next generation of leadership in the space industry.”
“I can only imagine the benefits a competition like this would have had for me as I explored opportunities in the field,” added Junia Janvier, Undergrad student at Boston University and project lead for the Space Frontier Foundation. “I can’t wait to help usher in the next class of young and eager innovators who are sure to transform the industry.”
In collaboration with the National Space Society’s International Space Development Conference, the competition is an in-conference track designed for underrepresented students with a passion for space, entrepreneurship, and diversity, equity, & inclusion efforts. Taking place May 27-29 in Arlington, VA, students will have the opportunity to compete in teams to craft a business model stemming from a piece of technology from the NASA Technology Transfer. Student teams will be comprised of interests in specializing in:
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Business, Legalities, Analytics
- Marketing, Communications, and Outreach
- Science, Research, and Technology
“Entrepreneurship for an Equitable Future.”
Our students will be equipped with the tools to design a venture from the ground up, with DEI as the leading framework, ingrained into the foundation of their entrepreneurial pursuits.
